How To Choose Static Eliminator

Factors to consider when purchasing an eliminator

Price

Function

Decay time

Ion balance

Long term stability

Safety and Proper operation

1, Self-discharge type:

carbon brush and stainless steel fiber

Advantages:

cheap price

Easy to install

Not necessary to consider ion balance (Application: copiers, fax machines, paper, films, etc.)

Disadvantages

Need to be close (1 mm) or contact with charged objects, will lead to short circuit for printed circuit board, easy to absorb dust

The electric field formed by corona discharge affects the charged object

after discharge, the object is still with a voltage of 100-200 volts

High Voltage instruments cannot be used (fiber caused by negative effects)

2, Soft X-ray

Advantages:

Free airflow and space influence, light to the place, static can be eliminated.

No need regular maintenance (every 8,000 hours to replace the radiation head)

Positive and negative ions are evenly distributed and the ions are well balanced

Even in the inert gas can also eliminate static (such as nitrogen and argon) no dust, no ozone, no noise

No high voltage, no high voltage electric field

Disadvantages:

High price

High maintenance costs cannot be used in open space (only for use in sealed space)

3, UV

Advantages:

Free airflow and air influence, light to the place, static can be eliminated.

No need regular maintenance (need to replace the UV lamp) Positive and negative ions evenly distributed, good ion balance

Even in the inert gas can also be static (such as nitrogen and argon)

No dust, no ozone, no noise

No need for high voltage, does not produce high voltage electric field

Disadvantages:

High price

Cannot be used in open space (only in sealed space)

A large amount of ozone could be generated when used at atmospheric pressure

4, Radiation type

Advantages:

No need for regular maintenance (replacement of radioactive source once a year)

Positive and negative ions are evenly distributed and the ions are well balanced.

No dust, no noise.

No need to high voltage, will not produce high-voltage electric field.

Disadvantages

Has not yet widely sold

Safety issues (due to the existence of radiation problems, to be completely sealed)

Replacement of radioactive sources

5, High Voltage(DC) type

Fan type: Such as our DC-001 DC-001B

Bar type: like SL-011 SL-012 SL-040

Nozzle type: E-080A E-080B SL-080A Ionizing gun G-002 G-003 G-001

a variety of models to choose

What type of eliminator customers currently use?

Need to re-understand the problem Whether it is realized that high voltage will produce ions?

The erroneous operation of the eliminator can lead to charge or high voltage discharge

To understand the advantages and disadvantages of various types of eliminator and the use of methods is essential!!

To ensure that the ion balance, when use high voltage, should pay attention to voltage fluctuations

DC ion fan is divided into two kinds of steady state DC and pulse DC

Advantages:

Simple structure, cheap (steady state DC)

Built-in high-voltage transformer, small size.

Each electrode independently produces a large amount of ions, less decay time.

The ion balance is adjustable.

Disadvantages:

Feedback and automatic balance of ion fan prices higher

Discharge needle exposed, easy to form a reverse charge when used closely!

(Because the DC independent of positive and negative ions, so for small instruments, the current that it produced is fatal) regular maintenance no

Ion balance adjustment function of the model, if not, it will affect the ion balance!

Discharge needle wear can affect ion balance!

To ensure the ion balance, should pay attention to voltage fluctuations

Pulse AC

advantages:

Performance is similar to DC pulsed ion fan. the good ion balance is the same as DC, due to the same discharge needle to discharge high voltage, so there will be no imbalance. Pulse alternating discharge.

The ion balance can be adjusted

Disadvantages:

Because of the pulse control and feedback function, the price is high

Discharge needle exposed, close use may easily form a "reverse charge" !!

(For small electronic components, the "charged" and "noisy" of the ion fan are not only fatal, but also have more drawbacks than the other AC type ion fans. Pulse exchange is alternating like the pulsed DC.) To ensure ion balance, high, should pay attention to voltage fluctuations

6, High-voltage AC

AC type is divided into low-frequency and high-frequency two models

Advantages:

The price is relatively cheap and stable performance; good ion balance; maintenance time is less than the DC type

Because of the use of small transformers, many models of high-voltage eliminators are small and lightweight (no high-voltage cable) high-frequency ion density is high, even if collision with the metal, it is not easy to be absorbed,

Many high-frequency eliminators have built-in discharge needle; it is not easy to form an electric field, which may affect sensitive equipment

Disadvantages:

low-frequency products have large transformers, heavy

Ozone generation is greater than other eliminators

7, Fan type ionizers

Our ionizing air blower ECW brand (E-00/E-002/E-003/E-1104, etc.) and SL brand (SL-001/SL-002/SL-003/SL-028/SL-020 etc.)

Advantages:

Large area eliminating effect.

Easy to operate, only need start the switch, it would be working. more variety (hanging / desktop / small type for machine)

Feedback DC ion fan has good ion balance (but the price is high)

Equipped with indicators to show the ion neutralization is better.

Cautions for using a fan-type ion fan!

The discharge needle of the DC ion fan is located in front of the fan or exposed to the outside

Distance should be more than 300 mm → pay attention to ion balance,

AC type should be more than 150 mm, due to the use of ambient air, so should regularly clean the discharge needle and filter; in the selection of ion fan we should take maintenance issues into consideration. When coverage wider, ion density decreases, so the distance should be aware of, while to measure it. the distance is farther, decay time declines. When the ion fan applied to the production line, the workers should avoid blocking the out of ion

For small products, such as mobile phone printed circuit boards or integrated circuits, should pay attention to the installation of ion fan distance

8, Bar type eliminator

Advantages:

For static elimination of fixed width

For limited space, fan type ion fan is not proper.

Can be used from multiple directions

Cautions for using a Bar-type eliminator

Make sure that the discharge needle is clean, because it is easy to adsorb the dust in the air

Should select easy maintenance and easy replacing needle type.

Because it covers a wide area, when used inside the machine or sensitive equipment (such as IC), should pay attention to the installation distance

When the cover area wider, the ion density declines. farther distance may result in the decline of decay time. because of continuous use of air, it should use a small gas flow mode.

When installing the ion fan in the machine, should pay attention to the distance between the instrument and discharge pins (to prevent strong electric field damage to the instrument) (AC: more than 150 mm; DC and pulse AC: more than 300 mm)

Because the ions are easily absorbed by the machine's peripheral devices, the installation location should be carefully chosen.

9, Nozzle type eliminator

Advantages:

For the dot-like pores elimination.

When space is limited, not suitable for fan type, should choose nozzle-type

Can be used from multiple directions

For the integrated circuit dot-like hole, it has better effect.

Cautions for using nozzle type eliminator!!

Should confirm whether the discharge needle is clean, because it is easy to adsorb the air in the dust, should select easy to maintain and replace the discharge needle mode, because the need of continuous air, it should use a small gas flow type. when installed inside the machine, the discharge pin from the instruments should be kept at an appropriate distance (to prevent damage to the electric field of the instrument) (AC: greater than 150 mm, DC and pulsed AC: greater than 300 mm) due to the ion easy to be absorbed by the machine's peripherals,
